Biography

From an early age I have always had a love of animals, although I enjoyed art at school I was encouraged to follow a scientific career and decided to study for a degree in biological sciences. Whilst I was taking a break from my degree studies I got six hens and from there I have never looked back. I discovered rare breed poultry and my flock has been expanding since moving to our Norfolk smallholding.

A love of art has grown with my love of chickens. I am a self taught artist, I started with decorative painting and must have painted chickens on every wooden item imaginable! Eventually I got fed up with painting other people's designs and decided to teach myself to draw. It has been a long hard road and I am constantly learning.

I love trying out different media and a few years ago I started classes at Skylark studios, where I have learnt many different printing techniques, which I hope to develop further in the future.

Although I have now graduated with a BSc. I have decided to pursue my artistic career and share my love of chickens and ducks with others. I always think painting and drawing them helps me enjoy them twice as much!

I live on a Norfolk smallholding with chickens, ducks, dogs and rabbits.
